- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Place cast iron skillet in oven with a small amount of American Tallow.
- Mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, and melted tallow.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients.
- Carefully pour batter into hot skillet.
